My journey to homeopathy
My professional career began in Human Resource Management as a recruiter for a software company in Beachwood, Ohio. After many years and several job changes, my desire to spend more time with my young kids inspired me to pursue coaching corporate fitness classes part-time, as I have always valued physical fitness and health. For over a decade I challenged employees at various corporations around the Twin Cities and supported them through their fitness journeys. It was during this time that my interest in health - whole health - began to deepen. I enrolled in a Master of Holistic Health Studies program at St. Catherine University in St. Paul, MN, and it was there that I first learned of homeopathy through a guest lecturer. With one year left in that program, I enrolled in a local 4-year homeopathy academy to study Classical Homeopathy.
Studying homeopathy has taught me that symptoms themselves are not the problem or something that should be suppressed. I recognize symptoms now as the body’s way of expressing an imbalance (or dis-ease). And I, as a practitioner, am trained to investigate and understand how symptoms relate to one another.
Having a thorough understanding of the expression of a symptom, or set of symptoms, will guide a practitioner to the remedy that is most similar to the energy of the imbalance. By matching this energy (or the dis-ease state), the body’s innate healing mechanism is better able to recognize the imbalance that is present and can address it accordingly. Homeopathy is a unique system of medicine that beautifully substantiates the principle of 'like treats like’. Once we are brought back into balance we are free from the barriers that have been preventing us from living our best life and letting our inner light shine.
My deep appreciation for the science and art of homeopathy stems not only from the quality education I received, but from my personal experience of transitioning away from pharmaceutical drugs for anxiety and depression.
Common imbalances that I have worked with include emotional trauma, anxiety, depression, attention deficit disorders, acute illnesses, broken bones, chronic skin conditions, chronic joint inflammation, behavioral issues in children, neurological conditions, and autoimmune conditions. Please note that I am not a licensed medical doctor; I do not diagnose or treat diseases; and do not give medical advice.
My ideal client is one who values health and understands that true healing is gentle, gradual, and nonlinear. If this sounds like you, please see my services page for appointment options!
